Located in scenic Cuyahoga Valley National Park near Peninsula, Ohio, Stanford Hostel is an historic farmhouse built in 1843  by George Stanford, one of the earliest European settlers in the Western Reserve.

Purchased by  the U.S. National Park Service in 1978, the house has been carefully restored by the National Park Service and the Northeast Ohio Council (NOC) of HI-USA through the generosity of The Cleveland Foundation The George Gund Foundation and the NOC volunteers. Stanford Hostel opened its doors in 1986 to visitors from around the world.

Hostel Accommodations

• Open to HI-USA members and the general public

• Separate dormitory rooms for men and women

• Limited family rooms and private rooms available

• Complete modern kitchen and dining area -- ideal for groups

• Group accommodations (30 bed capacity)

• Linen and towel rental available

• Indoor bicycle/motorcycle storage

• Bicycles available for guest use

• Picnic area

Hostel Rules

• Hostel is closed during the day except by special arrangement for groups

• Guests help with minor cleanup chores

• Guests provide their own linens and towel, or rent them from us

• Sleeping bags are not allowed

• Stays are limited to 7 consecutive nights, and a total of 14 per year

• Smoking is not permitted in the Hostel

• Alcoholic beverages are not permitted on the property
